Shanna and Niketa got married last October, and I had the pleasure of making their wedding cake for them. They had also used Al from Flora Culture, another RBA member, so I asked Niketa if he would write a review of our services so that I could put it on the blog.

I also mentioned that I'd like to include the story of how they got engaged. Little did I know how complicated the story was!
I'll try to summarize...They met in 2004 while both were dating other people. They became friends over the years, eventually decided to share an apartment as roommates (still not dating, though.)
Then they decided to take advantage of the housing market to buy a house together as an investment (still not dating, though.)
Their other relationships eventually ended and both were single, but they were still not dating each other.
So in 2010, after not dating for 6 years, Niketa said that he had a dream that he was having a conversation with God. Yes, God. In Niketa's own words:
"Well, God and I are talking and he pops me in the head during my sleep and asked me what is wrong with me. You have the woman you asked for and you are just going to let her go. I asked what are you talking about, she is not what I asked for in a woman. I receive another pop in the head and he hands me the list I made a long time ago. I had forgot some of the things on this list until it was in front of my face. Not only this woman has the top ten things I asked for, she has 34 of the 40 things I was looking for from a woman. I receive one more pop and then opened my eyes. I opened my eyes, on my birthday wanting to get married to this beautiful woman."
So over the next few days Niketa both tried to talk himself out of it and bought a ring. Then he proposed to Shanna after never having officially dated, and she immediately said yes.
That's quite a story!
So on October 1st of 2011 they did get married, and this is their review of the cake and the flowers that we RBA members did for them:
"Shanna and I were looking for places that would not only give us what we wanted, but show what they could do by being creative. We explained to Kara from A Cake to Remember what we were looking for and changed our minds a few times. We also did the same with Al from Flora Culture.
As all places you go to, they will show you their work and in the heat of the moment everything looks wonderful. That's not my wife and I did. We looked at what you can't do and then looked at what you can do. Well, looking at these cakes, we saw everything and we asked Kara to make our cake right away. Kara's cakes now, looked beautiful, but the taste of her cake was outstanding!
This cake came out so perfect my wife and I have pictures of this cake all over our home! We asked Kara for this cake and in our minds it was one way, but when we saw it, it was 100 times better than what we imagined!
When we met with Al we looked at his work and loved everything he showed us that day. His work was different from everything else we had seen and it was just gorgeous work. The array of flowers and just the combination of flowers this man put together had my wife in tears of joy! This is what we were looking for, someone that can make beauty into exceptional. Our centerpieces were gorgeous as well as everything he put together! I was really happy with everything he did."
Thanks, Niketa, and we're glad to have been a part of your wedding day and your fun story!
